The focus of our project is the excessive foot plantar pressure in diabetic patients. In this project, me and 3 teammates made a foot pressure measurement system. In another iteration of the device, we included a pulse oximeter module to screen for diabetes -related cardiac ailments. In our system, the major pressure points of the foot such as metatarsal region and the heel region are identified and the pressure is measured by a grid of velostat strips. This pressure is correlated with Body Mass Index (BMI) in our project.
